While often used in teas, dandelion root is a great addition to incorporate in juices, salads, stews, and soups. Being packed with essential vitamins and minerals, dandelion root can add nutritional value as an ingredient to any recipe. Dandelion root can also be blended into other herbal tea blends, made as a coffee, or infused in DIY body care recipes.

Directions

To prepare as a tea, pour 8 oz. water in a pot and boil. Add 2 tsp. of herb, cover and simmer 10-20 minutes, strain and serve immediately.

Dandelion root is most commonly used as a wellness tea and as an ingredient in wellness tea blends.

Burdock & Dandelion Chai

You'll Need:

  • ½ tablespoon Frontier Co-op® Burdock Root, Cut & Sifted
  • ½ tablespoon Frontier Co-op® Dandelion Root, Cut & Sifted
  • 1 Frontier Co-op® Cinnamon Stick
  • ¼ teaspoon Frontier Co-op® Cloves, Whole
  • 1 Frontier Co-op® Star Anise, Whole
  • ¼ teaspoon Frontier Co-op® Cardamom Seed, Whole
  • ¼ teaspoon Frontier Co-op® Ginger Root, Cut & Sifted
  • 3 cups water
  • Optional: milk or plant-based milk of choice & honey to taste

To Make:

  1. Place all herbs in a small sauce pan, add water, cover, and bring to a boil.
  2. Let simmer 5-10 minutes (covered).
  3. Carefully strain into mugs.
  4. Sweeten with milk and honey to taste, if desired.
