These sweet and tangy homemade pickled onions use honey as the sweetener and are ready to enjoy in a little over 3 hours. Seasoned with our expert blend of spices in Frontier Co-op® Pickling Spice.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon Frontier Co-op® Kosher Salt
  • 1½ teaspoons Frontier Co-op® Pickling Spice
  • 1 tablespoon Frontier Co-op® Parsley Flakes
  • 1 large red onion, thinly sliced

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, add vinegar, water, honey and seasonings, and stir to combine.
  2. Place onion slices into a 1-quart glass jar.
  3. Place funnel in mouth of jar and pour vinegar mixture over onion.
  4. Seal jar and invert 2 to 3 times to mix.
  5. Place sealed jar in refrigerator for 3 hours.
  6. Remove from refrigerator and serve.
