Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 2/3 cup organic cane sugar
- 1 cup milk or unsweetened non-dairy alternative
- 4 tablespoons butter or vegan alternative, melted
- 3/4 cup cornmeal
- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon Simply Organic® Everything Sweet and Smoky Blend
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease a 9-x-5-inch baking pan with butter or your favorite oil.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar and milk. Slowly add melted butter, whisking continuously.
- In a medium-size bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda and Everything Sweet and Smoky blend.
- Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients in 2 sets, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
- Pour batter into greased pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. A toothpick should come out clean when inserted into the center of the cornbread.
- Top a slice with honey, butter, and another teaspoon of Everything Sweet and Smoky to really kick up the presentation and flavor.
